Pine Bark (Pinus maritime)
 
Description:
Pine bark extract is made from the bark of maritime pine, whose scientific name is Pinus maritima. Researchers have termed the group of antioxidants found in pine bark extract oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs). OPCs are some of the most powerful antioxidants available.
 
In France, pine bark extract and OPCs have been rigorously tested for safety and effectiveness, and pine bark extract is a registered drug.

Safety:
OPCs is generally considered safe. Use cautiously with bleeding disorders, diabetes or other disorders that affect blood sugar levels. Avoid if pregnant or breastfeeding due to a lack of scientific data.

Possible interactions:
